The Millennial Generation Can Help During Tough Times

Source: Partner’s Report

Use the strengths of Millennials to help the firm cope with the recession. They are well-educated, confident, and have high technological know-how. They will be resilient even though they have not been through hard times before.

How Millennials may be more resilient:

  • They may be less affected economically (less likely to support families and have large mortgages).
  • They have been groomed for success and are naturally optimistic.
  • They believe in teamwork and collaboration.
  • They are good at multi-tasking.
  • They will get the most out of their work tools.

Capitalizing on their strengths:

  • Convey optimism about the firm and its future. They need to believe in the firm.
  • Don’t let up on their training and development.
  • Encourage them to be innovative. They are not bound by experience and can bring fresh thinking to problems.
  • Continue to allow workplace flexibility.
  • Offer recognition for exceeding expectations.
