Survey of Billing Rates

AOMAR’s 2007 CPA Firm Practice Management Survey shows little change in billing rates from the prior year.

The article concludes that, fearing clients will object, firms are reluctant to increase rates despite strong demand for services. The data include hourly rates only, not value billing. Is it possible that an increase in value billings has substituted, to some extent, for increases in billing rates? AOMAR believes not enough value billing is being done to affect the survey results.
