There is widespread agreement that only 10-20% of all partners at firms below the Top 100 can be described as proficient business-getters (not necessarily rainmakers). This was far less of a problem during the Golden Age of 2002-2008 when business came in without much effort for most firms. Now the biggest challenge is generating revenue.
