Consultant Disparages Marketers

Neil Fauerbach, partner and director of business development and marketing at Smith & Gesteland, LLP in Madison, Wisconsin, rebukes a leading consultant for saying he disparages marketers because they only make brochures.
Fauerbach says this consultant is unaware of progress made by marketers in the last 10 to 15 years. They have evolved from the tactical to the strategic and are now instrumental in positioning their firms in their markets. They plan events, improve communications, handle public relations, and help in recruiting. They deal with management issues, help managing partners be more effective, enhance client satisfaction, develop niches, and create strategic alliances. They are mentors, leaders, and influencers. Many, including Fauerbach, have become partners in their firms.
Fauerbach suggests this leading consultant rethink his critique.
Fauerbach is also president of the Association for Accounting Marketing.
