Source: Innovative Practice Management
The following is excerpted from a Blog posting in Innovative Practice Management, posted by Mark Bailey & Co. Ltd.
Mark Bailey & Co. no longer uses performance reviews. It has instituted a different method, one that is initiated by the person being appraised rather than the appraiser. At the same time the firm launched a new way to create engagement teams. They invite, rather than assign, people to participate in an engagement. Those who opt in invite others.
The reasons for both these innovative programs are similar. People are responsible for their own development and are more motivated when they work on things of their own choosing.
