Five new marketing strategies are explained:

  1. E-mail newsletters
  2. Social networks
  3. Podcasting
  4. Webinars and Web meetings
  5. YouTube videos

Here are highlights on social networks, podcasting, and YouTube:

Porter Keadle Moore in Atlanta encourages staff to use LinkedIn and focus on their connections. “Our marketing department then proactively searches those connections for companies on our radar screen or in our industry niches in an effort to reach out to prospective clients,” says Marketing Director Laura Snyder

In Buffalo, NY, Bonadio Group currently has about 50 podcasts available on its Web site. It produces one a month and notifies clients and prospects of their availability. The firm spent $10,000 for the equipment and software. A podcast takes 10 minutes to record and 30 minutes to 60 minutes to edit and finish, Snyder says.

Citrin Cooperman in New York City is operating in the YouTube world with a networking event. They brought together 150 attorneys for an awards program co-sponsored by a law school, the bar association, a business journal and a bank. After the event an e-mail with a link to the video and a message congratulating the winners was sent to select attendees.
