Specialized Tax Service Possibilities
Source: Practical Accountant
PA interviewed several firms to find out how they are helping clients increase cash flow through specialized tax services. Consideration should be given to developing a task force to evaluate the firm’s repertoire of tax services. Here is a list of some of those services:
- Cost segregation studies.
- R&D credit studies.
- Solar credit and other clean energy projects.
- DISC incentives.
- Merger & acquisition analyses.
- Revenue recognition studies.
- Multi-state nexus evaluations and tax strategies.
- Sales tax engagements.
- Reverse audits for possible refunds.
- International tax planning.
- Transfer pricing.
- LIFO consulting.
- Uncertainty problems—FASB Interpretation 48.
Many of the firms outsource certain services or partner with other firms or consultants. Services are provided not only to clients, but to others as well and serve as a basis for marketing efforts.
