Should You be Concerned About Competition from Banks?

Banks are offering tax preparation services, bookkeeping, business analyses, and payroll services. They also compete in retirement financial planning and third-party administration.

Still, many CPAs are not concerned about competition from banks, citing banks’ tendencies to quickly abandon their customers when things go badly, their marketing problems, their lack of objectivity on investments, the difficulty in changing banks, etc.
