Greater Transparency Demanded in Peer Review
| Source: The CPA Letter
National Association of State Boards of Accountancy is asking for their member boards to have “unfettered access” to peer review results. The profession is engaged in a debate about bringing greater transparency to peer review results. In fact, tens of thousands of CPA firms – for a number of different reasons – make peer review results available beyond the reviewed and the reviewer. An article discussing members’ perceptions about the peer review program and the issues being reviewed by the AICPA’s special Peer Review Task Force has been posted online at: www.aicpa.org/transparency/member_perceptions.htm From The CPA Letter, January 2006, p2.
