If you are working either part-time or full-time from your home office, you may want to consider the following advice:
- Dress as you would in an office.
- Don't allow your home to be part of your office.
- Create a routine and follow it. Join the family at predetermined times—keep time dutifully.
- Make it a point to meet regularly with clients and colleagues (you can no longer casually meet up with them in the office).
- Get out of the house (office) to meet new people.
- Arrange for a formal outside conference space for meetings.
- Don't undercharge because you don't have much overhead; it demeans your abilities. Be aware that some clients may expect you to charge less when you work at home. They should pay for what you do for them regardless of where you do it from.
