Management Projects You Must Implement in 2007
Source: CPA Insider
CPA Insider presents the following as New Year’s resolutions. We think they should be continually revisited throughout the year:
- Half of firm owners are over 50. It’s time to think about developing new
leaders for the future. Firms should develop procedures to transfer knowledge
and authority to the next leaders.
- Firms typically deal with staff shortages by increasing pay and benefits,
providing challenging work, and designing exciting career paths. But this won’t
entirely solve the problem. Focus on the real needs of clients—usually this
requires services that help clients improve performance. Staff functions that
don’t provide value added services should be outsourced or terminated so
talented people are not diverted from their real missions.
- Firms must develop unique positions in the market place. Determine what really makes your firm different and develop it as your special brand.
