Why are You Resistant to Change?

Why are You Resistant to Change?

Ron Freidman of Prism Legal Consulting Inc. in Arlington, Virginia, says partners avoid change for the following reasons:

  • Doing new things is risky.
  • If things are going well, why change?
  • Change implies learning new things—that’s difficult.
  • CPAs, by training, try to identify problems rather than do new things.
  • CPAs don’t have time to get involved in new things.
  • Doing new things requires leadership—CPAs don’t think leadership skills can be developed.
  • Clients are change-averse.
