Decide to Take the Lead

Decide to Take the Lead

Source: Flowtivity

In this blog entry, Dustin Hostetler challenges leaders to become more decisive and says that decisive actions are a common trait among successful leaders. According to Hostetler, some leaders wrestle with an issue for too long in the hopes of finding the perfect answer, but he points out that taking too long to make a decision often leads to an ultimately irrelevant solution and a missed opportunity. Hostetler also suggests that decisive leadership provides learning opportunities that leaders would not otherwise experience.

As for CPAs, Hostetler suggests that those who simply try to provide their clients with a number of options are not going far enough. Clients are looking not only for options but also for clear recommendations. CPAs who can confidently make a recommendation are more likely to lead their clients to depend on them as “trusted advisors.”
