I could talk for a whole day about what's working for us, but I'll just give you some highlights.

Most importantly, we have a president/COO and an executive committee that have the courage to lead in a very strategic way. Many were still afraid of “social networking” when we were posting regularly to LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.

In 16 months, we have grown a LinkedIn Industry group into a monthly face-to-face regional networking mixer that regularly draws 200 clients and prospects.

Our membership in the BDO Alliance gives us many resources to provide increased depth of services to our clientele.

Our investment in a comprehensive eNewsletter system with a robust database allows us to send regular eNewsletters and extremely targeted emails enhanced with an automated registration process for our increasing industry seminars and webinars.

We have invested our time and resources in a strong CRM system that allows us to capture, document and follow up each new business lead.

We strategically spend our sponsorship dollars in ways that will put our firm's name in front of our targeted markets. For example, we and BDO co-presented a first-time, high-profile CFO awards event in our region in early June.

We understand that “differentiation” provides us the ammunition we need to target and win selected clients, and make consistent efforts to grow our service offerings accordingly.

Our years-long internal incentive program features monthly “sales meetings” for all staff, a monthly award drawing, and a year-end celebration/award event.

There is one more activity that is working for us: Marketing and business development don't stop just because it's “tax season.” At Stambaugh Ness, it's “Opportunity Season!”
